A video essay on the reconstruction of one's identity, built exclusively with the footage of the films Lost in Translation (Sofia Coppola, 2004) and Arrival (Denis Villeneuve, 2016).
Both films ponder on communication (and the lack thereof) using a similar setting: a transitory experience on a foreign location that gives the protagonists a moment to rethink their lives.
This video was made as part of the Analysis of the Significance of the Image course.
